Heute: Zeit(für)Umstellung

So I used the first quarter of the year to think about sense and nonsense of Skateboard media in general and websites in specific. I even went to the good old news stand and bought some German skatemags only to find out that they have lost nothing of their senseless style and teenager street culture. Only change seems to be that they celebrate the 20th edition already - as seen in Place Mag. Come on, guys - Monster Skateboard Mag made it to number 284 by now, Limited have almost 100 and even Boardstein with their sketchy finance plan and reckless idealism got to number 47. So keep it cool. Meanwhile in the internet there is either stagnation or copy-paste anarchy. Time to pull the plug! A known saying of the Dakota First Nation tells "If you ride a dead horse - get off". That's what I thought and since some months or so I talk to fellow website owners and friends about new opportunities and concepts to get us out of stagnation. So I can tell that I am looking forward to what is coming up: skateanddestroy.de will get back to what it was - a one-man-occasional-webzine. Meeting expectation to put on daily post for everyone will be dropped meaning I will stop hitting the dead horse while remaining the right to post comments and satire in regards to daily skate buiz. Most of the time though will be spent on a new format allowing me to work more freely involving skateboarding, photography, music, traveling, art and culture. Anyway - don't forget to set your clock - and wake up in time!
